Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art

2018 exhibition dates: 3 March – 3 June 2018

The Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art is the country’s longest-running survey of contemporary Australian art. Presented free by the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Adelaide Biennial provides an opportunity for Australian artists to realise projects of a significant scale and impact.

Erica Green, Director of the Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art, is the curator of the 2018 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art.

‘Erica has a host of commissioned projects and major exhibitions and publications to her credit. Her appointment builds on the partnership established with the Samstag Museum and other Adelaide cultural institutions for this year’s Adelaide Biennial’. Nick Mitzevich, Director, Art Gallery of South Australia.

The 2018 Adelaide Biennial is an Art Gallery of South Australia exhibition presented in partnership with the Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art, UniSA, in association with the Adelaide Festival of Arts, and with generous support received from the Art Gallery of South Australia Biennial Ambassadors Program and Principal Donor The Balnaves Foundation.

This project is supported by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its principal arts funding body and by the Visual Arts and Crafts Strategy, an initiative of the Australian, State and Territory Governments.
