In 2018, Mercury Cinema’s Adelaide Cinémathèque season is a part of the 2018 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Divided Worlds.

The theme Making Worlds shows filmmakers expressing their ideas about the impact of divided worlds and their consideration of new world orders; both dystopic and other, which may or may not emerge out of the ashes.

The program has been co-curated by Gail Kovatseff and Adele Hann by drawing from and responding to films suggested by participating Biennial artists as having relevance to their work.

This Cinémathèque departs from the format of recent years. They have the occasional weekend screenings and have introduced a Sunday Children’s Cinémathèque. The regular week day screenings are now Mondays and
Wednesdays at 7pm.
